Have you heard about Makers-on-Hudson?
According to their website, “Makers-on-Hudson (formerly Hudson Valley Etsy Team) was formed in 2008 as a community of imaginative, fun, and forward-thinking Etsy shop owners who delight in all things handmade. We take pride in the quality of our work and wish to spread the word of cool, crafty and OOAK gift ideas made close to home.”
We in Newburgh have a flourishing Etsy-like group of artisans and craftspeople. Are they a part of Makers-on-Hudson? We hope so. If not, there is a call for new membership, and the application must be in by March 31, 2016!
Who can join?
According to the Etsy website, where you can register to join and submit an application, “Makers-On-Hudson is a moderated team with the following requirements:
We are a juried, handmade team. Applications are reviewed quarterly. The next application deadline is March 31, 2016. On April 1, 2016, the applications will be sent to the committee. All applications received after March 31 will be pushed to the next quarter’s review.
You will be judged on photo quality, shop consistency product to product, concise descriptions, about page, shop policy page, steady upkeep of your shop (recent activity) and appropriate profile content. This is to insure quality of the group that we have worked hard to create. Please understand that not every applicant will be approved.
To apply you must meet this short list of requirements. Upon your application your shop will be reviewed by a panel of team members.
1. You must reside in the Hudson Valley a min of 6 months of the year. Please tell us where you live.
2. Must be an active member of the etsy community for 3 months (as in from when your items are listed – lots of people open a shop and leave it there for years). Please let us know how long you have been a SELLER.
3. Must have a minimum of 10 sales.
4. You must have a min of 15 listings in your shop.
5. Your shop feedback must be 100%, and, if not, is subject to review.
6. Only Handmade items
Please include your social media links (Facebook business page, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc) in your application.
If you do not meet these requirements, please think of stopping back when your shop grows a bit. We always love to see the growth of our fellow Hudson Valley Artists and Artisans.
If you meet these requirements and would like to join our group please click the blue button! Be sure to answer ALL of the application questions.
All new members will be assessed regularly on team participation.”
So, there you have it! Head on over to check out Makers On Hudson! And see if you don’t qualify to register and apply for membership. Let us know if you already are a member or, if you apply, let us know if your application is accepted!
Good luck!
