Let Atlas Studios Winter Market help you be your best elf.
Update: December 7th event a great success! See you next year!
If you’re serious about finding truly creative holiday gifts or sprucing up your home for the winter, you probably already know that you’re unlikely to find yourself satisfied by the mass-produced offerings of big box stores and malls.
Hudson Valley Creatives Featured.
And even if you’re very aware that today’s Hudson Valley is a hotbed of creativity, of artists and craftspeople making brilliant and unique items, the idea of seeking them out over hill and dale may seem exhausting.

Beautiful pottery work by Newburgh Pottery will be for sale
That’s where the second annual Atlas Studios Winter Market comes in, to be held this year on the weekend of December 7 and 8. Gathered into one cool 1920s factory in Newburgh’s historic East End, you’ll find close to 3 dozen of the region’s most accomplished makers of beautiful things.
That person you think has everything? Yeah, no. There will be something here that person does not have — and will love.
From Atlas Studios’ community and beyond.
Some of the vendors are from within the Atlas Studios community, which leases studio and workshop spaces with 14 foot ceilings, hardwood floors, ample natural light and all the modern conveniences to 45 makers of all sorts. Others are from around the Hudson Valley.

“Some have studios here, others are from all over the area: Beacon, Garrison, Cornwall,” says market coordinator Stella Lee Prowse, who located in Newburgh 5 years ago specifically to become part of Atlas Studios.
“It’s a breathtaking mix. We make the gallery gorgeous with fairy lights and decorations, and there are lots of surprising things. One of our tenant vendors, Gerb-o-Matic, makes kinetic sculpture and he’s hosting a Make Your Own Elf workshop. We’ll have coffee and hot chocolate, food from Beacon Pantry. Last year we had a great turnout and a wonderful time; I think there’s been a real need for this.”
