Over the last few years, the Newburgh Illuminated Festival has gained momentum and emerged as a highlight event for Newburgh that kicks off summer and attracts many hundreds of people both local and from the tri-state area. The draw includes a mix of a celebration of current culture in Newburgh blended with the city’s rich history as well as vendors and foodstuffs from Newburgh and the Hudson Valley.

“LIVE MUSIC
Enjoy over 20 bands and other live performances on three stages. Live music all day and FREE to the public. Featured headliners include Corey Glover, the Funk Junkies, and many more!
CELEBRATION of COLOR
Celebrate Spring with COLOR! Cover yourself in color and immerse yourself in Kirtan Concert, enjoy authentic Ayurvedic foods from all corners of India and participate in the Yoga Mela, a collaborative yoga event with Hudson Valley instructors teaching diverse yoga methods throughout the day!
HV MARKETPLACE
Go local at the Marketplace! Artisans, community partners, and many small businesses will line the streets, offering unique gift and craft items including home decor, jewelry, vintage items, designer items, health and beauty products, vintage items, sweets and treats, and so much more! Make connections and see what going local is all about!
WORLD of FOOD
Newburgh is home to some of the most diverse restaurants in the Hudson Valley. Here you’ll get to sample authentic Mexican, Peruvian, Dominican and Ecuadorian specialties, along with Indian delicacies, Jamaican treats, Hudson Valley farm-to-table samplings, vegetarian options and more! And, of course, hot dogs, fresh baked goodies and fruity iced treats can also be found!
HISTORICAL TROLLEY TOUR
Enjoy a short trolley ride set along the panoramic Hudson River and visit a few of the many architectural treasures in Newburgh! Homes by nineteenth and twentieth century starchitects such as Downing, Vaux, Withers, and AJ Davis are featured on the tour. The Historical Society of Newburgh Bay and Highlands will open the David Crawford home for a tour and special event, and the Ritz Theater and Washington’s Headquarters are at the center of it all!
CHILDREN’S CORNER AND ACTIVITIES
Special areas where young visitors can expect carnival games, hoop dancing, candle-making, crafts and jewelry-making abound. And the older kids can enjoy rowing demonstrations, a designated skateboard run, rock sculptures, and impromptu performance!
POPUP ART SHOWS
Popup galleries, open studios and Downtown window displays will showcase the work of local artists and artisans. Enjoy access to contemporary local galleries and artist studios and meet members of Newburgh’s fast-growing arts community!”
Crowds continue to grow yearly, and the Festivals organizers are still accepting applications for vendors as well as musical acts!
