A studio space at Atlas Studios
Time for Newburgh Open Studios 2016!
It’s that time again. Yup. Time for this wonderful event that raises awareness not only about Newburgh’s art scene, but also about Newburgh herself.
This marks the 6th Annual Open Studios event when Newburgh’s artists, galleries, studios and sculpture installations throw open the doors (and lawns) for the public to visit.
Organized by Gerardo Castro and Michael Gabor, tireless arts-event planners, awareness raisers, and co-owners of Newburgh Art Supply, this year’s Newburgh Open Studios has the largest number of participating artists in its six year history – 99 artists.
The tour serves to introduce visitors to Newburgh’s burgeoning arts community and features the opening of artists’ work studios, alternative gallery spaces, sculpture installations and pop-up shows.

Offered as a free, self-guided tour, Newburgh Open Studios 2016 runs Saturday and Sunday, September 24th & 25th, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
As has been the case in the past, Newburgh Art Supply serves as the central location for tour information as well as maps of all the art stops on the tour. Newburgh Art Supply is located at 5 Grand Street.
Maps may be obtained beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 24th.
Newburgh Open Studios 2016 features a diverse selection of styles and artistic disciplines.
From avant-garde video and sculpture, and performance art, to traditional bookbinding, and traditional oil painting, the range of artistic offerings is wide.
Visitors are provided the unique opportunity to meet and talk with emerging and established artists and craftspeople in spaces rarely open to the public.
